Booking Finest Punta Cana...

When booking my room, how will Finest Punta Cana know I'm attending the wedding?

Great question!!  You need to book your reservation online or by phone, and make sure you provide the exclusive promo code provided for our wedding guests.  This will indicate that you are a guest of our wedding, provide you significantly discounted prices, and excellent booking terms in regards to payment and cancellations.

Promo Code:  RGWMAR27FPC

Click Here to book online with Finest Punta Cana

What are the terms and conditions? When do I have to pay and what happens if I need to cancel?

I'm glad you asked....  provided you book using the promo code, the terms and conditions are as follows:

  • Minimum 3-night stay
  • A credit card is required to secure your reservation, but no charges will be processed until 30 days prior to your schedule arrival date, at which time the full payment will be processed.
  • Cancellation with no fees or penalties up to 24 hours prior to your schedule arrival date
  • Only 4 rooms may be reserved under the same credit card
  • Children are defined as 12 and under
  • Most rooms have a maximum occupancy of 3, however, "Family" rooms can have up to 5 guests.  I noticed that based on the ages of your family members, you may have a unique situation that won't allow you to make the reservation online.  If that occurs, please call reservations # (866) 211-6223, and they will be able to make the reservation for you.  Be sure to provide the agent with our Promo Code.

What dates should I book?

That is entirely up to you.  Depending on your schedule and budget, you can book what works best for you.  The wedding is on March 30, 2027 at 5 pm, so I would suggest arriving by March 29, the latest.

Factors to consider when choosing your travel dates:

  • The promo code is applicable to any booking between March 24-April 3, 2027.  If you book nights before or after this date range those nights will incur their standard rates.
  • A minimum stay of 3 nights is required to use the promo code.
  • We intend to have a welcome cocktail party on March 28 at 5 pm for anyone who has arrived
  • Easter Falls on Sunday, March 28 in 2027, which may be a factor for your planning
  • Most guests, thus far, have booked trips from: March 27-April 1 (5 nights) or March 27-April 3 (7 nights)

Is Finest Punta Cana really all inclusive?

Yes!!  Finest Punta Cana is one of the most "all-inclusive" resorts I have seen. All taxes and fees are included in the total cost provided online/by phone.  Your booking price also includes: Round-trip PRIVATE airport transfers, all meals, alcohol and drinks (which are good quality), room service, all activities and entertainment are include in costs, no supplemental costs for al a care restaurants, and no hefty tips are expected like on cruise ships.

There are a limited number of optional activities or items that are available for an extra cost, such as: spa treatments, luxury bottles of wine, private beach dinners, scuba diving, and similar..

Ae tips expected? If needed, how much should I budget?

Tips are NOT required or expected.  If you never tip once during your stay, you will still receive excellent service and have a great time.

HOWEVER, all the staff work incredibly hard and often go above and beyond to exceed your expectations.  Smalls tips are a meaningful gesture that show your appreciation and are very impactful to staff.  This is a personal choice, so I leave it to your discretion, but for those who want to know what we, Genevieve & Rob, would do, I've included my tipping style below, assuming I received good service:

  • Transfer driver to/from airport::   $20 each way
  • Porters/Baggage Delivery at resort:   $5 delivery/pick-up
  • Housekeeping staff for room:   $5 per day
  • Servers at restaurants:   $5 per couple (breakfast/lunch/dinner)
  • Bartenders & Beach servers:   $1 per round
  • Based off my suggestions above, I would bring $150 (in singles and fives) for a 5-night trip

What is the "Choose Your Room" option?

This a unique feature offered at Finest Punta Cana that allows guests to reserve a specific room location using their interactive 3-D map, for an additional fee (typically $200 per stay).  Your request will be tentatively confirmed after you make a selection and the cost will be provided, however you will not be charge the fee until you check-in and the room is officially assigned to you.

In my opinion, this feature is not "worth" the cost, unless you are trying to ensure rooms next to a specific friend/group, or you have your heart set on a very specific location.

Is traveling to Punta Cana safe?

Yes, Punta Cana is generally safe to visit and is considered one of the safest destinations in the Caribbean. As the heart of the Dominican Republic's tourism, the area is heavily patrolled by specialized tourist police (CESTUR).  Resorts also have strict security procedures in place so ensure the safety and peaceful enjoyment of all guests.

Walking far distances in either direction along the beach is safe.  While it is safe to leave the resort property, I always recommend leaving with an organized tour group for excursions.  Thankfully, Finest Punta Cana has an endless list of activities and amenities that will keep even the most active guests well occupied.

What is the weather like in Punta Cana in March?

March is an ideal month to travel to Punta Cana with average daytime highs of 84oF and nighttime lows of 74oF.  March is typically one of the driest months with occasional rain showers that pass quickly.

Humidity levels stay fairly high throughout the year in Punta Cana ranging from about 69 to 76 percent. This means that you can expect a fair amount of humidity that is comparable to Florida

Finest Punta Cana offers heated pools to ensure optimal comfort and the ocean is typically 80oF during late march.

Yes!  You will need a valid US passport (expiration must be at least 6 months after your schedule arrival date).  If you don't have a passport already they are relatively easy to obtain provided you appl at least 3 month before our schedule travel date - but the sooner, the better.

NO, all you need is your passport.

Do I need a visa to enter the Dominican Republic?

No, you do not need to apply for a visa to travel to the Dominican Republic...BUT...you MUST submit the "Dominican Republic E-Ticket," which you complete online (click here for the link).  I suggest you complete the online form the day before you travel, although you can complete it online (from your phone) at the airport.  There is no cost, as it is included in your airline ticket.  ***Be sure to save a screen shot of the submission confirmation page to show the gate agent as you board your flight in the USA to Punta Cana.***

Is there anything I can do to make air travel easier?

While not necessary, having TSA PreCheck ($76.75 - lasts for 5 years) will allow you to enter express security lines at US airports and allow an easier screening process (shoes stay on, laptops and liquids stay in your bags) at US airports.  Click Here to enroll in TSA PreCheck

If you travel outside the US more than once per year, it may benefit you to have a Global Entry ($120 - lasts for 5 years), which Provides expedited entry into the U.S. from abroad via kiosks, plus it includes TSA PreCheck for domestic departures.  Click here to enroll in Global Entry.

Is there any way to expedite customs when arriving in the Dominican Republic?

Yes!  Although I will share my opinion that this is an additional expense that is definitely a "luxury" expense, and not necessary.  Punta Cana Airport has VIP Services available for a fee.

VIP Meet & Greet Arrival Service ($100 per person), includes escort from your plane's arrival gate to private customs, after which you will be escorted to the VIP lounge and enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages while a porter retrieves your checked luggage, finally you will be escorted to your private transfer pick-up location.

* if you arrive on a separate flight from your roommate, you would need to book/pay for a private transfer for one person in each direction (the cost to book a private transfer with Seasons Tours is $124 each way)

How will I find Seasons Tours for my transfer to Finest Punta Cana?

Once you have finished going through customs at the Punta Cana International Airport, a Seasons Tours representative will be ready to welcome you outside your terminal with a sign showing the Season Tours and Finest Resorts logo. Once you meet up with your airport transfer representative, they will lead you to your car and introduce you to your driver, who will be happy to help you with your luggage and escort you to your vehicle that will take you directly to Finest Punta Cana resort.

How far is the resort from Punta Cana Airport?

General & Packing Tips...

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

There is no dress code for the wedding.  Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Is there a dress code for the al a carte restaurants at Finest Punta Cana?

During the day the restaurants require bathing suit cover ups for women and tee shirts for men. In the evenings, attire rangers from casual to casual dressy, depending on each guest's comfort and preference.  Some people love an excuse to dress up, others would rather be comfortable.  Both approaches are acceptable.  The only clothing items to avoid at dinners would be ripped jean shorts, athletic shorts, worn out tee shirts.

Do I need power adapters for my electronics?

No need for an adapter or converter.  Finest Punta Cana uses standard 110V/1210V, 60Hz outlets, the same as the USA.

Is there WiFi at the resort?

Yes!  WiFi is free for guests of the resort and the coverage through out the entire property is consistently good.

Do I need to change money / Will the resort accept US Dollars?

US Dollars are accepted everywhere and both locals and businesses prefer to be paid or tipped in US Dollars.

Can I drink the water at the resort? Is the ice safe?

I wouldn't.  It's not worth the risk, not because the water is dangerous, but the natural bacterial and mineral compounds present in water varies from city to city and country to country.  Even if locals readily drink tap water without issues, your body may react poorly.  I would avoid tap water.  The water used for ice is all filtered and should be safe.

What should I pack?

While the resort does have a small store to purchase forgotten items, the prices are inflated, as such I recommend packing the following:

  • Sunscreen (bring twice as much as you think you need)
  • Chapstick with sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • A wrap or sweater in case you get a chill in the evenings after soaking up the sun all day
  • Goggles for the pool/beach if you prefer

The suite bathrooms have complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion
